CARBONDALE, Ill. (KFVS) - Carbondale Police Chief Stan Reno officially retired from the department during a ceremony on August 29.

Reno served on the department for 28 years.

Reno received several gifts to mark his service.

Chief Anthony Copeland will take over as police chief on September 2. Copeland was chosen as police chief after a lengthy search.

Stan Reno will continue to serve the citizens of Carbondale in his new role as city manager .
