A motorcyclist killed in a collision with a Hemet Fire Department truck was identified Saturday.

The crash occurred at 8:36 p.m. Friday at Chambers Avenue and State Street, according to the Hemet Police Department.

Responding officers found that a small motorcycle had crashed with a Hemet Fire Department engine. Emergency personnel rendered life-saving measures to the motorcyclist, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The California Highway Patrol responded to the crash and assumed the investigation.

The victim was identified as 38-year-old Joseph Cobb of Hemet.
