Ann Arbor — The kick is up, and … Michigan fans will see the Allstate logo on netting in the north end zone of Michigan Stadium beginning with the season opener Saturday night.

This does not, however, mean an avalanche of corporate sponsorship is coming to a stadium that has been known for its advertising-free tradition.

This is the first time the Allstate Good Hands net has appeared physically in Michigan Stadium. Last season, the partnership involved digital advertising seen on television only. The netting, considered temporary signage, will only appear when there are extra points and field goals.

Allstate will donate $1,500 for every extra point scored and $500 for every field goal to Michigan’s athletic scholarship fund. The netting advertising appears in nearly 100 stadiums includ
