A hit-and-run involving two boats occurred early Sunday morning in Grand Traverse Bay, according to a social media post by the Grand Traverse Sheriff's Office .

The sheriff's office said deputies were called at around 1 a.m. on a report that a 26-foot boat crossing West Bay was struck by a pontoon boat. The pontoon boat had no lights on and continued north after it struck the 26-foot boat, the captain of the 26-foot boat told deputies.

The captain was brought to shore by deputies, the sheriff's office said. No injuries were reported.

Deputies and the Coast Guard are still searching for the pontoon boat as of Sunday morning. Deputies said the left front of the pontoon boat likely has damage.
