Royal Oak — Thousands flocked to downtown Royal Oak on Sunday to explore the 28th Arts, Beats and Eats festival.
The four-day event Labor Day weekend hosts musical acts and hundreds of artists, businesses and food vendors to raise money for local charities. And this year was as popular as any other, attendees and vendors agreed.
"We're actually on track to sell out," Meagan Bozinovski, co-owner of Golden Cone Ice Cream, said Sunday afternoon. "We've definitely served over a thousand people so far."
Although Bozinovski and her husband have had an ice cream shop in downtown Royal Oak for a decade, this was her first time participating in Arts, Beats and Eats.
"It's been a blessing," she said. "We'll definitely be coming back."
Another first-timer was Ava Barrett. Her uncle, an area loc
