In the 2024 opener, there was a 56-21 setback at Muskogee.

On Friday, as the Hornets are led by a third different head coach in three seasons, Booker T. Washington recorded a signature victory on the home turf of S.E. Williams Stadium.

Ranked fourth in Class 5A, Booker T. Washington held on for a 21-14 triumph over the Class 6AII fourth-ranked Muskogee Roughers.

If this had been a 49-minute game instead of 48 minutes, Muskogee probably wins.

Rougher QB Stylan McHenry was brilliant during the final four minutes. Muskogee had driven to the BTW 32-yard line and would have one final shot at a tying touchdown, but the Rougher senior was sacked by Hornet star Cheerio P
