CABOT, Ark. — A Cabot teacher is receiving nationwide recognition this week and could get even more with the public’s help.
If you look at the finalists for Kleenex’s ‘Heroes of the Classroom’ contest, you’ll find ten teachers from across the country- and one right here in Central Arkansas.
It’s Briley Saunders, a fifth-grade literacy teacher at Cabot Middle School North.
“She's phenomenal,” Micah House, the school’s principal, said. “She brings such good energy to the building. She absolutely loves her kiddos.”
For Saunders, teaching is a calling.
“My twin brother Blake has Asperger's,” Saunders said, “And he needed extra time growing up. Basic things like tying his shoes- things were not as quick for him to learn, and I always saw that his teachers were always very patient with him.
