The Smoke ’N’ Spurs Festival is back in Mattawa this weekend until Sunday night. From rodeos and tractor pulls to concerts, stunt shows, vendors and camping, it’s going to be a weekend full of fun for the whole family. The Ontario Provincial Police will be on-site all weekend to ensure everyone enjoys the festival safely. Officers will be focusing on the Big 4: Impaired Driving, Aggressive Driving, Distracted Driving, and seatbelt use. They also say expect RIDE programs throughout the weekend. – Under new legislation, police can request a breath sample at any time during a lawful stop. The OPP advise, ‘let’s make this a safe and memorable long weekend—enjoy the events, look out for one another, and never drive impaired.’
