Crowds of demonstrators have converged on capital cities across Australia as anti-immigration rallies kick off on Sunday afternoon.
The planned March for Australia rallies, which call for an end to mass migration, are being held in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide and Hobart, as well as some regional cities.
There is expected to be a heavy police presence as authorities brace for chaos and counterprotests.
The government has condemned the anti-migrant rallies , which it claims "seek to divide and undermine" social cohesion, as the opposition warns rallygoers that any violent behaviour will not be tolerated.
