YOUNGSTOWN - Five Mahoning and Shenango Valley communities are scheduled to be sites of the nationwide “No Kings" events scheduled for Saturday, June 14, to protest what organizers call a "made-for-TV display of dominance" by President Donald Trump: a military parade celebrating the 250th anniversary of the Army in Washington, D.C.
Organizers of "No Kings" events say they aim to reject what they say is authoritarianism, "billionaire-first politics," and the "militarization of our democracy." The local demonstrations will take place in Mahoning, Trumbull, and Mercer Counties.
Planned local "No Kings" events:
Youngstown, Ohio
The Mahoning Valley Freedom Fighters (MVFF) will lead a "No Kings Day” protest.
When: Saturday, June 14, 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Where: Mahoning County Courthouse, 120
