Roswell Air Center lease with ILEA ends in less than 90 days

City government officials and the U.S. Department of State have confirmed that the International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) won’t be returning to its building near the South Main Street entrance to the Roswell Air Center.

The Department of State first characterized the program's pause as a 90-day furlough so the ILEA could be aligned with the Trump administration's America First Agenda. However, ILEA-Roswell's lease with the air center and city for use of the building will end on Nov. 17.

After several months of seeking a definitive answer, the Roswell Daily Record received confirmation via email on Wednesday that ILEA is leaving the location at 47 Gail Harris St. The information was attributed to an unnamed State Departme
