The City of North Bay has received more than $5.2 million for hosting Cascades Casino since opening in March 2022.

These payments to host communities are based on a formula consistently applied across all gaming sites in Ontario using a graduated scale of gaming revenue at the hosted site, according to OLG.

So, where has it been spent?

Of that money, $1.5 million was earmarked for the new twin-pad arena and recreation centre at the Steve Omischl Sports Complex, leaving $3.7 million still up for grabs.
