BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - While Labor Day is meant to be a day for families to enjoy time off of work, there are many dangers you need to think about.

Holiday activities like grilling, swimming, driving, and more can lead to an emergency if you’re not careful.

The following safety tips were released by officials with Acadian Ambulance:

Road Safety:

With increased traffic expected, drive safely and avoid distractions like texting.

Water Safety:

Designate an adult to supervise swimmers at all times.

Keep young children within arm’s reach in the pool.

Never consume alcohol while swimming or supervising swimmers.

Sun Protection:

Provide shaded areas for yourself and guests.

Wear hats and sunglasses for added protection.

Reapply sunscreen every two hours, especially after sun exposu
