BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - No one was injured when shots were fired and a standoff took place Saturday night, August 30, police said.

According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, the incidents happened on North 44th Street. Law enforcement responded to the scene after getting a call around 6:30 p.m.

The shots were fired, and then a suspect ran into a home and refused to come out, police said. They added that there was then a standoff until the suspect eventually surrendered to officers without incident.

Weapons were recovered from scene, according to BRPD.

At this time, details about the name of the suspect and the charges that person will face have not been released.

The situation remains under investigation.
