STOCKBRIDGE, Mich. (WILX) - The Stockbridge Police Chief, Matthew Bartus, has resigned after serving three and a half years.

The Stockbridge Police Department posted on social media that they have accepted the chief’s resignation, stating. “While we regret his departure, we understand his personal choice, and thank him for his service to our community.”

Bartus served the department for three and a half years. He also helped the Police Department grow in staff, implemented several programs such as K-9 and School Resource Officer. Chief Bartus was also the driving force behind obtaining accreditation for the Police Department.
