EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - On Sunday, the East Lansing Police Department(ELPD) announced over a, “Very busy weekend,” officers located a vehicle with open alcohol and a firearm in plain view.

According to a post on social media, ELPD officers were on a proactive patrol in the downtown area.

That’s when they found the vehicle with alcohol and a firearm.

After making contact with the occupants, they were able to recover two replica C02 guns, a stolen handgun, a machete, and a rifle.

The department stated, “ELPD is dedicated to keeping all residents and visitors safe to the best of our ability evening during extremely busy times.”
