LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - The Transportation Security Association (TSA) is expecting more than 17 million people to travel through TSA checkpoints.

But members of the Burton family, are not planning on going anywhere.

Today, at Hawk Island park, the Burton held their 2025 family reunion, filled with good food, games, and most importantly, family.

“With us there’s nothing like family,” Miranda Burton-Henton said.

It was the families 85-year-old aunt who chose to stay in Lansing for labor day.

“I enjoy being with my family. Family is history, family is love, family is laughter,” said Alicia Dennis, another member of the Burton family reunion.

And while the day might be filled with the kids playing, or someone flipping hamburgers and hotdogs, it also can be a bit bittersweet.
