FEDERAL troops are set to be deployed to major cities across the country as President Trump gets tough on crime, the US secretary of Homeland Security has said.
It comes as US Attorney for Washington DC , Jeanine Pirro praised Trump for how he has "changed the safety landscape" in the district with his policing surge .
While speaking to Fox News on Sunday, she said the city was "one of the most violent in the world" and that Trump's actions have started holding people accountable.
"This shining city on the hill is upside down and Trump is doing everything he can to re-orient it to be that shining city on the hill," she said.
"If President Trump didn't do this, Washington would continue to be one of the most violent cities in the world," she claimed.
