TUCSON, Ariz. - (KVOA) One female hiker has died and law enforcement says another woman is in critical condition after hiking Oro Valley's Linda Vista hiking trail Saturday.

According to the Pima County Sheriff's Department, the call to Oro Valley Police first came in around 1:45 p.m., Saturday.

The PCSD Park Enforcement and Search and Rescue Team worked in conjunction with multiple neighboring state and local fire departments.

First responders found the two women a short distance away from each other on the trail. One woman was rescued and taken to a local hospital where she remains in critical condition.

The second woman, 53-year-old Lyn Lagergren, was pronounced dead at the scene.
