Authorities are investigating after a Sea-Doo ended up crashing on a roadway near Lake Martin Sunday, injuring a child.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said it happened about 1 p.m. Aug. 31 near Wake Robbin Road's causeway that extends out into the lake, in Little Kowaliga Creek.
ALEA said a 12-year-old was operating the watercraft while towing another 12-year-old on a knee board.
The Sea-Doo struck the causeway, causing the watercraft to become airborne, and landed on the roadway, ALEA said.
The child on the watercraft was injured and taken by helicopter to a hospital.
The other child was able to let go of the rope before the crash happened and was not injured.
ALEA's Marine Patrol Division is investigating.
