A 12-year-old was injured Sunday after being thrown from a personal watercraft that hit land on an Alabama waterway.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reported that the injured youth was piloting a 2024 Sea-Doo 300 and towing another 12-year-old on a knee board. ALEA described the location as being on Lake Martin in Little Kowaliga Creek.
The incident occurred at about 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 31. The Sea-Doo struck a causeway that forms part of Wake Robin Road. “The 12-year-old operating the Sea-Doo went airborne after striking the causeway and landed on the roadway,” said an ALEA report.
The youth was transported by helicopter to an area hospital. ALEA did not release any information on his or her condition.
