Winnipeg police arrested a 54-year-old man Saturday morning after he was seen walking into traffic on Pembina Highway while carrying a large knife.

Recommended Videos At about 10:40 a.m., officers responded to reports of the man wandering on the roadway in the 2300 block of Pembina. Police located him in the median, still armed with the knife. According to investigators, he began yelling at officers, then approached a police cruiser and struck its windows with his fist and the weapon. Officers requested backup as the man continued shouting and moved back into traffic before returning to the cruiser, again striking the windows while holding the knife.
