MACKINAW ( 25News Now ) - Families went toe-to-toe in a sticky showdown at Mackinaw Valley Vineyard this weekend, and it was all in the name of tradition and fun.

Families and friends went against each other in teams of two, as they took turns smashing a quarter ton of white grapes.

The Grape Harvest Festival also featured live music, and even some throwback fun, with guests dressing up as Lucille Ball, recreating the iconic grape-stomping scene from her classic TV show.

“I think it’s a time everybody can forget their cares, let their hair down. I see a lot of moms and dads stomping against the kids or grandparents, it’s a lot of fun to watch,” said Diane Hahn, the vineyard’s general manager.
