DUNLAP ( 25News Now ) -Some furry friends made a stop at the Wheels O’ Time Museum in Dunlap on Sunday to help them become better service dogs.
The museum partnered with an Illinois Service Dog program, Paws Giving Independence, which provides services for people with disabilities.
About 30 dogs came to the museum to be trained on a variety of lights and sounds.
Learning those sounds will have dogs better prepared to face certain types of challenges in a real-world environment.
“Slowly and positively, the more prepared the dogs for the job with the person, they are going to help eventually, said Michelle Yuen, Director of Animal Intake and Care at Paws Giving Independence.
