LEXINGTON, S.C. — Sunday afternoon, dozens gathered at First Baptist Church of Lexington to observe International Overdose Awareness Day, honoring 90 people who lost their lives to overdose.

The event offered families the chance to remember their loved ones, share their stories, and connect with support networks. Families submitted photos of those who passed, and their names and ages were read aloud in remembrance.

Christine Nace, mother of Damien Nace, shared her personal loss. Damien passed away three and a half years ago from fentanyl, a potent synthetic opioid.
