HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) -- After a mainly dry weekend across the area, rain chances are on the rise for the region. Along with the increase in rain showers, we will also see another brief cooldown, with lows forecast to fall into the 50s for some locations.

Monday will start dry across the area with a mix of sun and clouds. By midday and early afternoon, isolated showers will start to develop. Showers will not be widespread on Monday, but a heavy downpour will be possible.

A greater chance for widespread showers and isolated storms will arrive on Tuesday and Wednesday as multiple disturbances track through the region. Winds will shift out of the south, allowing moisture to filter into the region, supporting pockets of heavy rain.
