Three beaches in NSW are set to have shark nets removed but the state government won't elaborate on which beaches.
Shark nets were installed on September 1 across 51 NSW beaches between Newcastle and Wollongong, as they usually are every summer.
Central Coast, Waverley and Northern Beaches councils had been invited to be part of a trial, where one beach in their area will not be netted during the 2025/26 season.
Agriculture minister Tara Moriarty invited the councils to nominate a beach, but all three councils asked the NSW Department of Primary Industries (DPI) to make the final decision.
Ms Moriaty told ACM that the state government would "continue working wtih councils to determine the details of the trial".
"The NSW Government's $21.5 million annual shark management program is the
