Duke football rolls into Week 2 of the 2025 college football season as it hosts No. 12 Illinois on Saturday, Sept. 6 at Wallace Wade Stadium (Noon ET, ESPN).

Duke (1-0) opened its 2025 season with a 45-17 win over Elon on Thursday, Aug. 28, with Darian Mensah throwing for 389 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Blue Devils to victory. Illinois (1-0) also started its season with a win, taking down Western Illinois 52-3 on Friday, Aug. 29.

The Fighting Illini ranked No. 12 in both the preseason US LBM Coaches Poll and the AP Top 25 poll. The Week 2 polls are set to come out on Tuesday, Sept. 2.

The Blue Devils are 1-1 overall against Illinois and 1-0 against it at home. The last meeting between the two programs came on Oct. 23, 1965, with the Fighting Illini claiming a 28-14 victory.
