MYSTIC, Conn. (WTNH) -- A hotel guest bathroom ceiling caught fire early Monday morning in Mystic, according to fire officials.
Fire officials were called around 2:15 a.m. to the Spark Hotel at 55 Whitehall Avenue to extinguish a fire on the second floor in a guest room.
Fire officials said they saw smoke on the second floor and discovered a small fire in the ceiling of a bathroom, which was extinguished by hotel staff using a fire extinguisher.
Once crews confirmed the fire was fully extinguished, the building was ventilated and metered.
Guests and employees were able to reenter the building once it was deemed safe.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
