WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — West Hartford residents voiced their frustrations over close calls with speeding drivers at a meeting Wednesday night in which town leaders showcased their plans to add speed cameras.
"A drunk driver went through a red light at a high rate of speed and hit my father in a pedestrian zone,” Stephen Blanchfield said.
Some town residents said they were tired of close calls with speeders, while others said they did not want anyone else to become a victim.
"I am legally blind,” Todd Hansen said. “I have never had the privilege of a drivers license, I lost my eyesight at eight years old when I got hit by a car riding a bicycle.”
