It’s easy to overreact after the first weekend of the 2025 SEC football season, but it also seems pretty clear our preseason perception of several teams was wholly inaccurate.

We have only one “data point” for each team, so there will be more volatility in this week’s rankings than we might see later in the season. A few teams were who we thought they would be, but some have taken a big leap, while others have taken a sharp dive.
