FORT SMITH, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — The 188th Wing Air National Guard Base in Fort Smith says there will be more F-35 night flying operations this month.
A social media post from the base said residents may hear fighter jets at night between Sept. 2 and Sept. 12.
The 188th said that night flying is part of the required training operations to fully qualify Foreign Military Sales partners in the F-35.
The base previously notified residents in July about the night flying operations that would be taking place.
The first pair of Polish F-35A Lightning II fighter jets arrived in Fort Smith in December.
