GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) - A man was arrested after he allegedly threatened his roommate with a knife and barricaded himself inside a motel room.
The incident happened around 1:25 p.m., Sunday, when the Grand Junction Police Department responded to a report of felony menacing at the Columbine Motel, 2824 North Ave.
The victim left the room and got to safety after the suspect, 43-year-old Melvin Johnson, reportedly threatened him with a knife. Johnson allegedly refused to cooperate with law enforcement and barricaded himself inside.
But after speaking with officers, Johnson was taken into custody without further incident. No injuries were reported, according to GJPD.
