West Dunbartonshire has one of the highest percentages of looked after children living in kinship care according to fresh reports.

It comes as the local authority reaffirms its pledge to improve the lives of care experienced young people through national initiative “The Promise”.

The Promise states that all Scotland’s children and young people will grow up loved, safe and respected so they can realise their full potential.

To Keep the Promise, the local authority when involved in decision making, and thinking about changes to policy, must ask “what will the impact of decisions be for children, young people and families with care experience?”
