DETROIT -- Longtime Tigers infielder Ryan Kreidler is getting his first big-league opportunity outside of Detroit.

A fourth-round pick out of UCLA in 2019, Kreidler played for the Tigers in each of the past four seasons. The 27-year-old began this season unexpectedly as Detroit’s center fielder after a rash of injuries pressed him into action. He hit just .105 (4-for-38) in 17 games, with 19 strikeouts and no extra-base hits.
