BEREA, Onio -- The pergola at McKelvey Park in downtown Berea will be the site of a permanent display honoring veterans and active-duty military.

The military tribute is being planned and organized by the Northern Ohio Veterans Association (NOVA). The pergola is located near the splash pad.

“This is not a memorial,” said Chaplain Willie Springer, executive director of NOVA. “This will honor all military, whether they have served or are serving now.”

Plans call for each pillar of the pergola to display a bronze symbol of one of the armed service branches. The seals will include Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Space Force and Coast Guard.

Each bronze seal will be 24 inches in diameter. They will be manufactured by Classic Bronze Resources of Cincinnati, which is veteran owned. All m
