COLUMBUS, Ohio — Two suspects have been sentenced to prison in the December 2022 murder of 21-year-old Andrew Combs, who was shot and killed while trying to help his friend during an attempted robbery at a West Columbus gas station.
Dreyton Johnson was sentenced to at least 23 years in prison last week, while his accomplice, William Armstead, received at least 15 years in prison in June. Both suspects were juveniles at the time of the shooting, ages 16 and 17.
The fatal incident occurred on the night of December 13, 2022, when Andrew and his pregnant fiancée, Victoria, stopped for gas after Christmas shopping. Andrew went inside the station and was killed while attempting to help his friend during the robbery attempt.
