The director of Oklahoma's Medicaid program says she's confident changes wrought by the One Big Beautiful Bill can be implemented smoothly and with minimal disruption for most clients.
A lot of people involved with Medicaid are not so sure.
"Most of these changes actually begin incrementally at the very end of 2026, so essentially January ’27 is when we'll start to see some of the changes take effect," said Christina Foss, chief of staff and state Medicaid director for the Oklahoma Health Care Authority. "A lot of these are really phased in across several years, so we won't really see the effect for a while."
