KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - The Knoxville Police Department is investigating after a woman was shot while walking in an alley Monday afternoon.

According to KPD, a woman reported that she was walking in an alley in the 2800 block of E. Magnolia Avenue when she was shot.

Her injuries are not life-threatening, KPD said.

The circumstances that led to the shooting are unclear at this time, KPD said, adding that the investigation is in its early stages.
