ROSWELL, N.M. (KRQE) – A Roswell man has been arrested after being accused of shooting and killing another man during a confrontation on August 31. Willie Fuentes, 62, was booked into the Chaves County Detention Center and charged with voluntary manslaughter.
Fuentes is accused of shooting and killing Roman Chavez, 49, after an argument between the two men broke out in the 400 block of West 16th St. Roswell police officers were called to the scene around 7 p.m. and found Chavez with a gunshot wound to his torso. He was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police say the two men had an ongoing conflict with each other.
