NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Town Point Park in Downtown Norfolk was filled with hundreds of local labor unions, community organizations, students, educators, and working families as they protested for the Workers Over Billionaires Rally and March.

From signs to chants, people used their day off of work to use their voice.

“This rally is really important because it shows a consistent demonstration of opposition to the Trump regime and the policies that they are implementing that are destroying our country, particularly the growing inequality between the rich and the working class, which has increased,” said Carrie Short with COVA Coalition.

Group organizers say it is led by workers and families to demand investment in communities, not billionaires, as part of a nationwide day of action.
