AUSTIN, Texas — The Texas Lottery is officially under new management.
As of Sept. 1, the Texas Lottery Commission is abolished, and Texas Lottery and charitable bingo operations are transferred to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR). TDLR is a state agency responsible for regulating and licensing a slate of occupations, businesses, facilities and more.
"The transition of the state lottery to TDLR will not affect Texans’ ability to participate in games offered by the Texas Lottery and Charitable Bingo," a press release from TDLR states. "All Texas Lottery Commission positions are now TDLR positions."
