WACO, Texas — The Waco Police Department is congratulating two Sergeants on their recent promotions.

Waco PD recently announced the promotions of Sergeant Damus Vice and Sergeant Joshua Fischer, saying they hope Vice and Fischer will "continue to serve the department with dedicated service, leadership and professionalism."

Sergeant Vice joined the Waco Police Department in January 2018, having completed the A2018 McLennan Community College Police Academy where he served as the class president, the department said.

While on patrol, Vice worked in both East and West Waco, primarily on the midnight shift. Vice transferred to the Neighborhood Engagement Team (NET) in January 2022, where he worked with his assigned neighborhoods to "address community problems, implemented various crime preve
