It continues to feel like an early taste of fall as highs only climb into the upper 70s to low 80s this afternoon. Along the Outer Banks, those steady northeast winds gusted up to 30 mph, stirring up rough surf and keeping beach conditions less than ideal. A stray shower may sneak in near the coast, but for most of us, it’s will be a dry and pleasant night.

Tonight, temperatures dip into the upper 50s inland and mid-60s near the water

Through midweek, our below-normal stretch continues with highs staying in the mid-70s to low 80s. A low-pressure system developing off the Southeast coast will ride north, but most of its moisture stays offshore. The Outer Banks may pick up a brief shower, but the majority of us remain dry through Thursday.
