Over half a million children are set to benefit from funded childcare as new rules come into force from today. Eligible parents will be able to get up to 30 hours of free childcare a week, starting from September 1.

All eligible working parents who applied for the funded childcare can expect to save up to £7,500 a year per child, according to Government figures.

It comes after the Government announced it was extending the scheme in May so that parents are able to get up to 30 hours of free childcare a week instead of 15 hours, starting from September.
