BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — According to the PubMed Central , through the National Library of Medicine, more than 20% of children in the U.S. have vision problems. Many low-income families and minority children have a greater risk of under-diagnosis and under-treatment of vision problems as well. One event on Monday, however, is hoping to help with that.
For the 36th year in a row, hundreds of runners lined for the Run for Sight race in Bowling Green.
One of them was Lorenzo Moreno, who just started to pick back up his passion in running recently.
“I haven’t started running since my freshman year of high school, since it’s nice to get back out again," Moreno said.
He, along with many others, raced outside of Covington Woods Park for 5 kilometers (or 3.1 miles).
