Mabel the basset hound was at risk of going to an animal shelter when her previous owner in the eastern Kentucky mountain area could no longer care for her.

Now, Mabel lives in Frederick after she was saved by a Kentucky rescue. Sara Hoffman of Frederick adopted Mabel in 2024.
