BUFFALO, N.Y. — Sam Toe is entering his junior year of high school at The Buffalo Academy for the Visual and Performing Arts. He is on a mission to keep getting better as a music major.

The highlight of his summer vacation happened on a Wednesday at Sportsmen's Tavern in Buffalo.

His teachers like to showcase students in the community when possible and that is how Toe ended up at Sportsmen's.

"He sang his first song and blew the roof off the place, and then he sang another song, and then he played his saxophone," said teacher Alex Hughes who accompanied Toe at the venue. "He did two duets with the female singer in the band. He's just really mature and professional for his age."

It was a day to remember for the high school student.
