JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WTAJ) — Dozens of "Workers over Billionaires" protesters were in Johnstown Labor Day.
Driving along Central Park in Johnstown Monday, you would have spotted dozens of signs. It was billed as a "workers' rights" protest but in the crowd, there were plenty of messages expressing frustrations from cuts to Medicaid to calling for an end to the war in Gaza.
"There have been massive cuts to Medicaid and Social Security programs, which a lot of workers rely on, on top of EBT and a lot of workers are outraged because of that," said Derek Coker, the organizer for Johnstown's Workers over Billionaires protest.
Coker said he wants local lawmakers to know people in Johnstown are outraged with actions taken by the Trump Administration.
