SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) -- Areas of rain impacted KELOLAND over the weekend. Meteorologist Brian Karstens shows us where heavy rain fell and who is missing the recent moisture.
As summer draws to a close, the rain patterns are still wetter than average when you look at KELOLAND as a whole. But when you look at little closer, it's clear there a wide range of rain totals across the region.
The big low-pressure system that sat and spun across KELOLAND certainly brought some pockets of heavy rain. This area west of Pierre was hit with several rounds of rain and totals of 2 to 5", providing a good recharge to soil moisture as we head into fall. The heavy rain trends elsewhere were more scattered as individual thunderstorms made all the difference between the haves and the have-nots.
